Roberta Alexander 사족: Text의 이해 1. 베일을 쓰는 수녀: 화자는 일생을 예수의 신부로 (베일) 살기로 작정하는 수녀이다. 2. Where springs not fail: 여기의 "springs"는 요한복음 4장 사마리아 여인과의 대화에 언급되는 "우물"이다. 즉 영원한 생명의 샘물이 있는 곳. 3. To fields where flies no sharp and sided hail: 위험의 요소나 괴로움도 없는 (no flies nor sharp sided hailstones) 평원 (낙원). 4. And a few lilies blow: blow= to bloom (blossom). 즉 백합이 만발하는 곳 5.
